This week, we examine the impact of USAID cuts across Africa. In Nigeria, reduced aid has deepened corruption and sanitation woes. Reports from South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria reveal how each nation is coping. In South Africa, our Street Debate highlights the toll on HIV patients and health care workers. Lastly, we visit Ethiopia to learn how the construction industry is adapting without USAID.

The Trump administration's cuts to USAID are having a severe impact on essential services in South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria.

In Nigeria, over 13,200 children who were receiving support to return to school are now left without help, making their future uncertain. In Kenya, the US previously funded over a quarter of the country's development aid. Withdrawal of this funding threatens critical sectors like education and health care, especially HIV treatment for 1.4 million people. Experts speculate that these essential medication supplies may only last another three to six months.

Find out about the further impacts of USAID cuts in this video.
