Leipzig drone threat prompts security concerns in Germany

DW asks Jürgen Hardt, foreign policy spokesperson for Germany’s governing conservative bloc, whether the country is still safe after a drone laden with explosives was found at Leipzig/Halle Airport.

In an interview with DW, Jürgen Hardt (CDU) describes the Leipzig drone incident as a serious "warning signal" for Germany’s security agencies. He argues that the case underscores the evolving risks posed by drone technology, as well as the need for faster deployment of counter-drone measures and better protection of critical infrastructure.
