"An Alleyway in Hell" -- that's what Human Rights Watch calls its new report on secret "black jails" in China. The organization accuses Chinese state agents of regularly abducting citizens, mainly the so-called "petitioners", and detaining them in illegal black jails whose very existence has been denied by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Nevertheless, Human Rights Watch has acquired evidence and testimony that severe physical and psychological abuses take place in these unauthorised detention centres.
