Hundreds of thousand homeless and without food - as Haiti attempts to cope with the worst quake there in centuries

French President Nicolas Sarkozy is calling day for an international conference on rebuilding Haiti after a powerful earthquake devastated the impoverished Caribbean nation. Rescue teams and supplies are on their way to Haiti from around the world, but as yet, there is still no coordinated rescue plan. The Red Cross estimates between 45 and fifty thousand people may have died, and three million Haitians need immediate relief - that's a third of the country's population. The situation there is becoming more desparate by the hour.
