As a Hungarian Gendarmerie officer in World War Two, Kepiro is said to have taken part in the massacre of more than 1,300 Jews, Serbs, and Roma in Novi Sad. Some years ago, the Nazi-hunter Efraim Zuroff traced him to Budapest. A Hungarian court ruled that Kepiro must stand trial. But it hasn't come to a trial. Instead, Kepiro -- now 96 years old -- tried to take Zuroff to court for slander.
