'I was proud of myself': D-Day veteran tells his story

Harvey Segal spoke with DW's Max Hofmann at the commemoration for the 75th anniversary of D-Day in 2019. Segal was just 19 years old when he found himself in a foxhole on Omaha Beach being shelled by German forces.

US veteran Harvey Segal, who is now 101 years old, spoke with DW about his experiences landing in occupied France to fight Nazi Germany.
