There is a lot at stake in green technology for the major automakers at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show. They're now flooding the show with technical reports supporting their company's views of electric and hybrid cars. (Most agree that battery technology is not yet advanced enough to power a purely electric vehicle without regular charging.) They're promoting mainly hybrid cars. The Japanese have the most commercially viable models. Toyota has unveiled its latest hybrid vehicle which has become a standard in the industry.
