Illegal mining — polluting Ghana's rivers and land

Ghana is Africa's largest gold producer, but the country is fast gaining notoriety for destroying its soil and water bodies in search of the precious mineral. Due to a lack of opportunities and alternatives, young people are at the heart of the illegal mining activities or so-called 'galamsey' and as DW's Isaac Kaledzi reports, the government has very little time to save the environment.
