Ludwig van Beethoven was one of the most influential composers in the history of classical music. He was born in Bonn in 1770. At the age of 21, he moved to Vienna and wrote many of his best-known works there.

Exploring Vienna's famous Ringstrasse

Vienna is a major tourist destination. 7.5 million people visited the Austrian capital last year. Vienna's Ringstrasse, or ring road, is famous for the architectural beauty of the buildings that line it.

The Beethoven House in Bonn

The Beethoven House was founded in 1889, and includes a museum and memorial site devoted to Bonn's most famous son. A new permanent exhibition shows what Beethoven was like as a person, as well as an artist.
