A group of global experts has issued an alert, saying famine is looming in Gaza amid growing evidence of widespread starvation. Despite Israeli promises to increase aid, people on the ground say little has changed. DW spoke with Palestinians about the daily struggle to find food.

After nearly two years of war, most of the population of Gaza is displaced and living in tents. Hunger and malnutrition are rampant, with families struggling to access basic food.

Despite Israel allowing more aid into the territory, residents say little has improved on the ground. Aid distribution is chaotic, with goods often being stolen or resold at exorbitant prices. Mothers and children protest for food, highlighting the widespread desperation. People in Gaza remain almost entirely dependent on external aid, with no jobs, money or relief in sight.
