In his first statement since the turmoil on Wall Street, US. President George W.Bush said he was concerned about the financial markets and the U.S. economy. He stressed the markets were still absorbing measures taken by his government and the Reserve Bank to bail out insurance giant AIG. He earlier cancelled travel plans to stay on at the White House to monitor developments on the financial markets.
