In Rome, Pope Benedict meets Germany's top Bishop for talks on child sex abuse cases

The head of Germany's Catholic Church has formally apologised to children abused by priests. After talks in Rome with Pope Benedict, Arch-bishop Robert Zollitsch said an investigation is underway into the claims of physical and sexual abuse. In recent weeks, there have been more than 170 reports of severe misconduct at Catholic institutions in Germany - some cases date back decades. The Archbishop said an oversight committee was being established to prevent future abuse.
