A growing number of Indian companies are doing business in Germany, blending service and manufacturing. Many hope that a new free trade agreement can boost their business.

Techno Design, an Indian-founded fashion design company based in Düsseldorf, is part of a growing wave of Indian businesses expanding into Germany as economic ties between the two countries deepen. The firm develops digital clothing designs using 3D visualization for major German and US brands, while production takes place in India, China and Bangladesh.

Its CEO, Rajive Ranjan, sees major potential in a future EU–India free trade agreement, expecting reduced tariffs and improved access to skilled talent. Local business networks, including the India Competence Center, report rising interest in India as a diversified economic partner.

Yet entrepreneurs caution that European regulations remain a significant barrier for small and medium-sized firms. Techno Design is preparing for growth, planning to expand its India-based workforce and invest further in AI-driven fashion development.
