July 29, 2009

Manmohan Singh has said his government has not eased its stand on resuming peace talks with Pakistan.

Singh was defending a joint statement issued in Egypt earlier this month with Pakistani Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani.

The statement said that action against terror should not be linked to the dialogue between the two nations.

Opposition parties allege this to be a U-Turn from India’s earlier stance of not resuming dialogue unless Pakistan tackles terror against India emanating from its soil.
