Indonesia: The Deadly Policy on Painkillers

Indonesia's drug laws are among world's toughest. Possession of just five grams of drugs like marijuana or cocaine can result in lengthy prison sentences or even the death penalty. At the same time, the country's health care system is failing its citizens. Hardest hit are patients who rely on pain relievers.

The problem is that many doctors fear the consequences of storing morphine or other narcotics in their practices.
