Inside Norway's military: What it's like for female soldiers

Conscription for women was introduced in 2015. Now, they represent more enlisted members, but sexual harassment is an issue. Focus on Europe follows two women who enlisted in the military.

Norway is increasingly relying on young women like Kaja and Karin to bolster its defenses along the tense border with Russia. Their first week in the army shows growing gender equality, but persistent issues with sexual harassment remain.

As they train for border patrols, the recruits describe respectful teamwork, strict boundary rules and a strong sense of duty amid rising regional tensions.
