Riyadh quietly backs efforts weakening Tehran, its "strategic adversary," while trying to avoid escalation, says Megan Sutcliffe, principal analyst for the Middle East and Africa at Sibylline. Trade disruptions and the threat of Houthiattacks could trigger "an economic nightmare" by cutting key routes.
