Hackers have leaked hundreds of thousands of emails stolen from Germany's far-right AfD, including messages from party leader Alice Weidel. The party says the data was taken in a September cyberattack.

More than 421,000 emails linked to Germany’s far-right AfD have been published online following a cyberattack.

The alleged material includes private communications, sensitive personal data and reported references to racism, antisemitism and Nazi ideology, although much of the trove has not yet been independently verified.

Could this become one of the biggest political data leaks in modern German history?

DW correspondent Simon Young reports.
