Suspected Ebola samples must be tested the same day — no matter the time. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, lab teams work around the clock when there's an outbreak.

The National Institute for Biomedical Research (INRB) in the Democratic Republic of Congo is now on alert for the rare Bundibugyo Ebola strain. A diagnosis can be done almost in real time. 

Adrienne Amuri, a medical biologist, told journalists how important it is to identify the contacts of Ebola patients, and how quickly samples must be tested.
