International Migrants Day

Migrants and displaced persons are some of the most vulnerable and marginalized groups of people in our society.

International Migrants Day is celebrated each year on December 18. The day helps recognize the contribution migrants make to their new countries and communities, and highlights the challenges they face. 

In 2020, over 281 million people were international migrants while over 59 million people were internally displaced by the end of 2021, the UN reports.
