Interview: Ariane Hingst

Ariane Hingst is one of her country’s most experienced players, with 171 caps for Germany under her belt. The 31-year-old midfield and defense ace has won two World Cups, and four European Championships.

Kick off! talks to “Ari” Hingst about the tournament in her own country, the strengths of the Germany side, possible opponents, and the special features of the women’s game: “A woman cannot strike the ball 50 meters from standing. That’s why women play more short passes, and the net amount of playing time is longer. There’s less theatrics."
