In our interview, we ask Elizabeth Thompson how a short summit can hammer out an agreement on issues that have been discussed for 20 years. After all, the developing and threshold countries want to promote their own interests and not always be seen as beggars.

The UN-appointed Executive Coordinator of the event is convinced that the economic crisis, demographic developments, and environmental destruction will create enough pressure to induce each nation to accept its share of responsibility.
