DW visited a neighborhood in Beit Shemesh, near Jerusalem, which suffered the deadliest attack in Israel so far. As rescue work continues, residents seek shelter and voice growing concerns about further Iranian strikes.

As tensions from the US-Israel war with Iran continue, Israel's air‑defence system remains only partially effective on the ground despite multiple interceptions.

Volunteer rescuers in Beit Shemesh, themselves under constant threat of further strikes, describe a devastating scene with multiple fatalities — including people killed while trying to reach shelters.
