As the US-Israeli war with Iran drags on, ordinary Iranians are bearing the brunt — living with fear, disruption and uncertainty. DW spoke to some as they crossed the border into neighboring Turkey.

A month into the US‑Israeli war with Iran, strikes continue almost daily, hitting Tehran and prompting missile and drone responses across the region. Ordinary Iranians are bearing the brunt.

In the Turkish border city of Van, passengers arriving by train from Tehran describe bombardments, blackouts and fear for family back home. DW correspondent Julia Hahn reports from the frontier, where uncertainty is growing on both sides of the border.
