No one has lived on Great Blasket for over 70 years. But, during the summer months, couples can apply to be island guardians. What draws people to an island without any comforts or Wi-Fi?

Camille and James, a young couple, spend six months as caretakers on Great Blasket Island off Ireland's west coast. Without electricity or hot water, they maintain cottages, run a café and adapt to off-grid living. The remote island, rich in wildlife and Gaelic heritage, offers tourists a rare escape from modern life — when the weather allows.
