After the US Supreme Court ruled that Donald Trump overstepped on tariffs, he swiftly imposed new levies creating fresh uncertainty, with China poised to benefit the most.

The latest tariff upheaval in Washington has rattled the global economy, as the US Supreme Court ruled President Donald Trump overstepped his authority with last year's "reciprocal" tariffs — only for him to quickly re‑impose new universal levies of 15%.

Businesses initially hopeful after the ruling now face growing uncertainty, with European manufacturers like Germany's Ziehl‑Abegg among the hardest hit. At the same time, China unexpectedly gains a competitive edge in the US market.
