The Old Forge, located on Scotland’s Knoydart peninsula, is perhaps Europe’s most remote pub. There are no roads leading to it — only a hiking trail 25 kilometers long.

A 9-hour hike through Scotland’s Highlands leads to the country’s most remote pub: The Old Forge in Inverie. Guided by Lizzie Buchanan, hikers pass waterfalls, lochs, and temperate rainforest. The Cape Wrath Trail offers wild camping and stunning nature. The pub, once known for wild nights, is now run by locals as a collective — also reachable by boat.
