The Pirate Bay is a file-sharing website founded nearly 10 years ago in Sweden. Users download BitTorrent files that can be used to obtain pirated films and TV shows. Earlier this year, Sweden’s Supreme Court ruled that it would not hear the final appeal by its founders, who have been battling an intellectual property case for years. The four founders, who have since moved out of the country, face prison sentences and a combined fine of 6.8 million US dollars. Since then, there’s been pressure in various countries around the world to block access to the site at the ISP level. Right now, there are two cases currently ongoing in the Netherlands trying to overturn that block. Peter Teffer reports from Amsterdam.
