At least 28 Palestinians have been killed in a new wave of Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip on one of the deadliest days since the ceasefire. Israel's military says it was responding to an attack by Hamas militants.

Israeli airstrikes on Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood and Khan Younis killed at least 10, including women and children, according to Gaza’s health ministry. Israel says it targeted Hamas fighters after gunfire near its troops, a claim Hamas denies, warning of ceasefire collapse. Since the October 10 truce, about 300 Gazans have died. Most residents remain displaced in flooded camps as winter approaches, deepening the humanitarian crisis.
