Three years after the Hamas-led terror attacks, grief and unanswered questions still shape Israeli society. The anniversary looms over the country's first election since the 2023 attacks.

On Wednesday, Israel marked the anniversary of the October 7 terror attacks in 2023.

The raids from Gaza into southern Israel, led by the Hamas terror group, left around 1,200 people dead, while 251 were taken hostage.

Memorial ceremonies were held at hundreds of places across the country, including the site of the biggest massacre.

How politicized has this memorial become? How much of a threat is Hamas today? How do Palestinian Israelis feel about the commemorations?
