Israeli forces have intercepted the last vessel of an aid flotilla headed for Gaza. The convoy was in international waters, prompting accusations that Israel violated maritime law. Protests have been staged in cities around the world.

Israeli forces have intercepted the last boat of a Gaza-bound flotilla, detaining its crew and cutting the live broadcast.

About 470 activists are now in custody, likely facing deportation.

Global protests erupted in response, with thousands of people rallying in cities such as Barcelona, Geneva, Rome and Sao Paulo to condemn Israel's blockade and call for the release of the detained activists.

Demonstrators accuse Israel of violating humanitarian rights and worsening the crisis in Gaza.
