Italy in weekend rescue of two Venice banks

The Italian government stands ready to bail out two insolvent Venetian lenders at the cost of 5.2 billion euros. The move comes two days after the European Central Bank warned that Banca Popolare di Vicenza and Veneto Banca were failing or likely to fail.
