German Chancellor Angela Merkel says she'll intensify efforts to save struggling GM subsidiary Opel. She says she wants to lay the groundwork for a European Opel, but that the government is not going to take a direct stake. Merkel made her comments in front of three thousand Opel workers at the company's main factory in Rüsselsheim.
