Franz Josef Jung has resigned his cabinet post in the wake of a scandal over an airstrike in Afghanistan ordered by the Bundeswehr. Jung was Defence Minister when the incident happened back in September - he said he was taking responsibility for his ministry's failure to pass on key information on civillian causualties in the airstrike. Jung had been functioning as Labour Minister in the Chancellor's current cabinet.
