Five minutes before the new year, Lithuania will take its nuclear power station Ignalina off line. It was part of a deal the country made with the European Union when it joined the bloc in 2004. The Soviet era reactor has been modernised and has been a significant source of revenue for Lithuania. But a new consciousness is sweeping the country.
