With just 48 hours to go until German elections on Sunday - parties on the left are making gains in opinion polls - chipping away at the lead enjoyed by Chancellor Angela Merkel's conservatives. At the moment - the CDU/CSU stands at 35 per cent , with the Social Democrats at 26 per cent. At the last election in 2005 - the conservatives fell six percentage points in the final two to three days. Here's a look at the largest German parties in a race that has a number of possible outcomes.
