Pope Benedict the16th has called for renewed efforts to secure peace in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as part of his Easter message to catholics around the world. During his traditional "Urbi at Orbi - "to the city and the world" - blessing, he said he would carry the message of peace to the holy Land, when he will visit both Israel and Palestinian-Ruled Bethlehem in May. At the culmination of Easter week, the pope celebrated mass for tens of thousands of people gathered in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican.
