During a visit to Islamabad, Afghan President Hamid Karzai appealed to Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to facilitate direct peace talks between Kabul and the Taliban. In the past Kabul has repeatedly accused Pakistan of providing haven for Taliban members.
