Kashmir: Tourism struggles post Pahalgam attack

Tourism is a major source of income in India-administered Kashmir. But the Pahalgam attack on April 22 brought uncertainty to the industry.

In recent years, the Indian government has promoted Jammu and Kashmir as a tourist destination. In the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, authorities closed 48 tourist spots in the region. The sudden shutdown has caused major financial losses.
