Keep it in the family -- General Motors reportedly scrapping plans to sell its European unit, Opel

Things change so much they end up staying the same. There is now talk that General Motors will NOT sell its European unit, Opel. This is a political bomb here in Germany. The government here has promised billions in loans to ensure that a new owner will keep much of Opel's 50 thousand jobs in Germany. But the Wall Street Journal reports GM is putting together a plan that would allow it to hold onto to Opel.
