Kelheim – revisiting the Middle Ages at Prunn Castle

Prunn Castle perches atop a rocky outcrop meters above the Altmühl Valley in Bavaria, like a picture-book version of a medieval castle. A veritable treasure was once found here: an illuminated manuscript of the famous German epic, the Nibelungenlied. Guided tours show visitors more about everyday life in the castle in the Middle Ages, including the ladies' chambers and the kitchen.
