Learning and childcare go hand in hand at Greenland Girls School, a pioneering institution specifically established to support pregnant teens and young mothers.

At just 16, Edel Wamalwa believed that motherhood meant the end of her education

But with her father's support, Edel was able to join Greenland Girls School, where teen mothers can continue getting an education.

Students like Wamalwa can step out of the classroom to breastfeed and bond with their babies. Greenland was founded in Kenya by Samuel Mukilya as a place of hope, renewal and second chances.

The Greenland Girls School is lighting the way in education in a country where 18-20% of girls aged 15-19 become pregnant.
