In Kenya, devastating floods have brought new dangers to poor communities. The floods triggered outbreaks of neglected tropical diseases like intestinal worms and snail fever, posing serious health risks.

Simon Oketch, a 7-year-old from Kenya, was recently diagnosed with intestinal worms. Because his mother needed time to raise the funds to buy deworming tablets, he needed surgery to remove eggs that were causing obstruction in his stomach.

Recent devastating floods have caused outbreaks of neglected tropical diseases like intestinal worms and snail fever, especially in poorer communities.
