An attack by Syrian rebels on a television station near Damascus left seven of its civilian staff members dead - as peace envoy Kofi Annan confirmed a meeting on the conflict would be held over the weekend. Annan also said he will keep Syria's ally Iran involved in efforts to halt the fighting.
