The Central Asian state's high mountains are flecked with glaciers and snowfields. Climate change is causing them to melt faster. Mudslides and floods are threatening the population and its power supply.

The country is responding to the new challenge with an awareness-raising campaign. And the sun is being harnessed as a clean and reliable energy source. Hospitals in the country are installing solar panels to cut their reliance on harmful diesel generators during power cuts.
