Pupils who need extra tutoring can find help online. Many in Germany are using the service Sofatutor to fill in gaps in their knowledge.

The Berlin website Sofatutor has made some 6,000 videos available with subjects for the fifth grade to the thirteenth, and even university-level material. Each clip explains a topic in ten minutes at most, including in math, chemistry and physics. The videos are made by teachers, scientists and university students. And before they're uploaded, two more experts make sure the quality of the content and presentation is sufficient.
