Across southeast Asia, crews are racing to rescue survivors stranded by torrential rain and flooding. Hardest hit is Indonesia, where nearly 800 people have died on the island of Sumatra alone.

Rescue efforts continue in Indonesia after catastrophic floods and landslides killed hundreds and devastated Sumatra. Teams are struggling to reach remote areas as roads and bridges remain blocked by debris and mud. Survivors face hunger, disease risks, and uncertainty about shelter, while rice paddies and food stocks lie in ruins. Aid is arriving slowly, leaving many vulnerable communities desperate for help.
