Leipzig marks the beginning of a peaceful revolution

On October 9, 1989, the first of what came to be known as the Monday Demonstrations took place in Leipzig. Marking the event, Chancellor Scholz reminded his listeners that these protests ultimately led to the fall of the Berlin Wall and changed the world.
