I hope that the G8 summit will go well, and that all the participants will leave with good memories of Mecklenburg-Western Pommerania and Heiligendamm. I consider the participants to be both the attendees at the summit as well as the peaceful demonstrators.

It's a considerable responsibility to take on, and I wouldn't say I can always sleep easily. But this is a joint task among the state, federal and municipal governments and coordination is very good. I can't imagine anything that could happen that would actually make me sweat too badly. Except of course, the weather will be pretty warm and we'll sweat automatically.

Otherwise, I just hope that everything goes off smoothly and that protestors don't resort to violence requiring large police deployments.
