The Orient Express was the most glamorous train in the world. After years of planning, it is being restored to its former glory — and, soon, passengers will once again be able to travel through Europe in 1920s style.

The legendary Orient Express, which first ran from Paris to Vienna in 1883 and later to Istanbul — and was immortalized in a novel by Agatha Christie — was known for its elegance and mystery. The train is set to relaunch in 2027, with meticulously designed interiors. An exhibition in Paris to mark 100 years of Art Deco offers glimpses of what it will look like.

Meanwhile, Italy's "La Dolce Vita" Orient Express provides a luxurious alternative through Tuscany and Sicily for people who can afford the experience.
